For the people who don't know Conneaut Lake is a lake in Pennsylvania not too far from where I live. I have been fishing there since I have been a kid fishing from my grandparents dock. Conneaut Lake has a really active lake life with tons of boats, and jet skis making it difficult to fish while it is busy. Having a boat makes the fishing experience better due to the over fished accesses on the lake. There is a large population of fishermen that go to Conneaut Lake and fishing from the shore can be difficult do to overfishing. Your best bet is to fish from a boat to get the most luck. For Conneaut Lake they have a good population of large mouth and small mouth bass which is what I usually target when I go out. For bass fishing tips I have posted a blog on what has worked for me so go check it out! They also have Northern Pike and Muskie. These fish are one of the larger freshwater fish. They are sight predators and I have found the most luck with spinners, spoons, chatter baits, and large swimming baits. They also strike more during the colder months in the fall and the spring. You can also catch a lot of bluegill in Conneaut Lake. Another fish I like to target is Crappie and you can catch these fish the same way you can bluegill. For how I prefer to target them I have a blog posted talking about my experience fishing for bluegill.
